EWA Series “Snap-Back” Prevention Balancers
They are very similar to the standard EWF balancers but incorporate additional safety mechanisms to prevent injury to the user. If the wire rope is cut, a centrifugal brake engages and the drum locks. This prevents the wire rope from snapping back and injuring operators or damaging equipment. The distance the severed wire rope will travel before the centrifugal brake engages is 3.9 inches (100 mm) or less.
Used by several automotive manufacturers, the EWA sets the new standard for employee safety and ergonomic.
